Ms. Marcy is a proud mother of 4 children. Opening a daycare was always her lifelong dream. After Ms. Marcy gave birth to her youngest daughter she decided to stay home and open a daycare facility that would enrich children's development. Motivated by a passion for the health and well-being of all children, Ms. Marcy & her oldest daughter Lashanda worked together to open a daycare that would cater to the needs of parents. Being a mother gave Ms. Marcy insight on what services to provide to parents. Ms. Marcy spent many years doing nursing and caring for others. Her education and experience in working with children of all ages and abilities, makes her an invaluable asset to our children, families and staff. Ms. Marcy is both a compassionate and loving caregiver and the infants clearly respond to her nurturing ways.
Ms. Lashanda earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Suny Old Westbury in 2014. Ms. Lashanda also studied early childhood education and received many credits within the field. Ms. Lashanda always dreamed of being a teacher since she was a young girl. She would create lesson plans and teach teddy bears at the tender age of five years old. One of the greatest quality Ms. Lashanda brings to our students is her ability to engage each child, build nurturing relationships and personalize curriculum to ensure each child’s success. Ms. Lashanda creates a safe, secure environment which allows children to feel accepted and loved. Ms. Lashanda and Ms. Marcy are a dynamic duo working together to do what they both loves. They share the same dreams, goals and visions. The mother and daughter duo work effortlessly to provide and build great relationship with our parents. They also inspire to uplift and build up our future leaders of tomorrow.
Ms. Barbara known to all our students as "Grandma" is a great asset to our facility. She is quite creative and enjoys working with our infants. Barbara has over 60 years’ experience working with children. Children feel safe and secure knowing Ms. Barbara is around to help fill their day with lots of love, and hugs. The children instantly grasp to her and blossom due to her nurturing ways. Ms. Barbara is the mother of Ms. Marcy, and grandmother of Ms. Lashanda. Her experience and knowledge make her a great asset to the Marcy Precious Little 1s Daycare Team.
Ms. Odessa a mother of one amazing son. Her love for infants shines through. The nurturing experience she offers the babies in our program is like no other. Ms. Odessa first passion has always been to cater to #MPL1 infants. Ms. Odessa also currently pursues a career in nursing. Her training and expertise specializing in infants care assures your precious one is cared for by a loving and experienced staff. Ms. Odessa is a valuable asset to our children, families and staff. Ms. Odessa is also the granddaughter of Ms. Barbara niece to miss Ms. Marcy and cousin to Ms. Lashanda.
Ms. Karen creates a personalized experience for our scholars. She has a special approach to teaching as she was a teacher for many years in Guyana and helps scholars reach their full potential. Ms. Karen is a mother of two is dedicated to helping each child thrive. She is also a valuable asset to our children, families and staff. Ms. Karen is also the cousin to Ms. Marcy, Lashanda, & Ms. Odessa.
